Careers Advice and Guidance

Mrs Poppleton is a fully qualified level 6 careers practitioner with several years’ experience and specialist training and counselling skills. She offers impartial advice and guidance working with CTTC students and their parents from Year 8 through to Year 13. She offers particular additional support for students in Year 9 who are choosing their options. All students leaving CTTC will be given a wide range of impartial information to make informed Post 16 choices about their future. She liaises with local and specialist national colleges, training providers, employers and the voluntary sector to ensure that knowledge is up to date and information can be shared about the needs, demands and the trends within the Labour Market locally, nationally and globally.

In addition she arranges employer workshops for students and activities including ‘Dragons Den’ and annual careers exhibitions held here at CTTC where we have over 60 different exhibitors attend. Students also have the opportunity of attending careers events ‘The World Skills show, ‘Teen Tech’ ‘Big Bang Fayre’ and visits to employers and businesses including JCB.
